Banshee is a new literary journal of contemporary writing from Ireland and around the world. It is edited by three female writers and friends in their late twenties: Laura Jane Cassidy, Claire Hennessy and Eimear Ryan.
Banshee will feature a number of formats: short stories, flash fiction, poems and essays.
“Some of our favourite themes – but please don’t limit yourself to these – include coming of age, sexuality, gender, mortality, complicated relationships of all shapes, the joys and frustrations of the creative life, our relationship with technology, and the extended adolescence of the 21st century. While our outlook is literary, we’re open to genre elements.”
Submissions for issue one are now open until May 31st. Contributors will receive a small fee as well as a copy of the journal. For full submission details are available here.
